Located on Sweetwater Marsh National Wildlife Refuge on beautiful San Diego Bay, the Chula Vista Nature Center is an internationally recognized zoo/aquarium exhibiting plants and animals native to San Diego Bay and marsh/wetland habitats. Visit the refuge for an up-close and personal visit with endangered Green Sea Turtles, shorebirds, hawks, sharks, stingrays, and jellyfish, to name a few! The collection of plants and animals exhibited at the Chula Vista Nature Center varies by season and availability of appropriate specimens. The 316-acre Sweetwater Marsh National Wildlife Refuge is home to nine rare and endangered species. It is the intent of the curatorial staff to exhibit species representative of the local ecosystem for educational purposes. The Nature Center Gift Shop features books, toys, t-shirts and fine gifts.
