Official Web Site
The San Diego International Airport is known
locally as Lindbergh Field. This airport
serves most major national and international
airlines, commuter airlines and private
planes. The airport consists of three
terminals. There are several choices for
dining and shopping.
Directions:
The Airport is located adjacent to San Diego
Bay and is just 3 miles from the downtown
city center. It is served by I-5 with
connections to State Route 163, I-8 and
I-15.
Parking:
See our
Discounted
Airport Parking service option.
Parking at San Diego International Airport
is conveniently located outside each of the
three terminal buildings. Motorists can park
on-site for short-term and long-term periods
(up to 30 days). Long-term parking is also
available on a daily basis and can be a
useful option, especially during busy
holiday travel periods when on-site parking
is at capacity.
San Diego International Airport offers
travelers several long-term parking options.
Each location offers quick and easy access
and is conveniently located within close
proximity of the airport terminals. All
locations offer free shuttle service. For
your safety and security, each parking
facility is fenced, well lighted, paved, and
open 24 hours. No reservations are required.
Check the airport's website for location
details.
The San Diego County Regional Airport
Authority offers the option of a Cell Phone
Waiting Lot for parking, free of charge, as
a temporary way-station for motorists
picking up passengers at the Airport.
Motorists will be able to avoid making a
series of loops past the terminals and
around airport roadways by waiting in a
50-space parking lot. Once contact is made
between the driver and incoming passenger,
motorists will proceed to the terminals,
cutting congestion in front of the terminal
buildings during peak summer travel months.
The Cell Phone Lot has food and drink
vending machines and portable restrooms.
Public
Transportation To/From Airport:
The San Diego Trolley and the Coaster
commuter train do not stop at the Airport.
The only public transit available is the
Flyer Route No. 992, a Metropolitan Transit
System bus that travels between the Airport
and downtown San Diego, stopping between
Terminals 1 & 2 and the Commuter Terminal.
The 10-minute bus service to and from
downtown connects with Trolley, Coaster and
Amtrak stations and is wheelchair
accessible.
